Colombo, 25 July, (Asiantribune.com): As a part of an effort to obtain the views and advice of different segments of society, Milinda Moragoda, Minister of Justice and Law Reforms, has recently created a special Buddhist advisory committee to serve the Ministry.
Members are drawn from the Buddhist clergy from all Nikayas.
Minister Moragoda had created a similar Buddhist advisory committee during his tenure as Minister of Tourism to advise on matters related to tourism.
The signing of the appointment letters of the new committee’s 30 representatives was carried out as Minister Moragoda’s first official act, when he took over the Justice Ministry two weeks ago.
The Buddhist advisory group is scheduled to hold its inaugural meeting in Kandy in August, in conjunction with Justice Ministry officials and invitees, to work out a future working plan.
